Resemble AI Launches DETECT-World, the First Deepfake Detector Built on World Model Architecture

Hugging Face’s model count has grown from 2 million to nearly 3 million in the past 9 months, adding thousands of new AI models every day, a growing share of them built to generate images, audio, and video. Humans alone miss roughly 7 in 10 deepfakes unaided, and while pattern-based detectors perform better, they still need to be retrained on each new generator to keep up. In a video of a person speaking, the model may look for things like whether lighting changes naturally across the scene, or whether a shadow matches its source. Deepfakes are Now the Top Critical Cybersecurity Threat
Gartner recently named deepfakes one of four critical cybersecurity threats where attackers currently hold the advantage, warning that generative AI has made deepfake creation more realistic, accessible, and increasingly real-time, expanding attackers’ ability to impersonate identities in fraud, social engineering, and recruitment scams. What It Catches
– Executive impersonation on live calls. Real-time face-swaps on Zoom or Teams, discovered by looking at facial and or body continuity across frames, minor distortions in features while speaking or moving, and probable lighting and reflections.
– Synthetic identity fraud with official documents. Deepfake selfies and synthetic ID photos, caught by inspecting liveness cues like blink patterns and depth inconsistencies, and by detecting injection-attack signatures where a live camera feed has been spoofed or swapped out.
– Claims and evidence review. Videos and images of damage for reimbursement or claims processing inspected for lighting and shadow inconsistencies, unnatural continuity between frames, and signs of digital splicing or manipulation.
No detector will ever be 100% accurate, but across every modality, DETECT-World is now getting as close as it gets: audio accuracy reaches 99.5% as benchmarked by Podonos and now covers 54 languages, and detection overall has been benchmarked across more than 250 generation models.
