Vyome Co-Founder Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta Promoted to Professor at Harvard Medical School

Vyome Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: HIND) (“Vyome”), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on immuno-inflammatory and rare disease conditions, today congratulated its Scientific Co-Founder and Director, Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta, PhD, on his promotion to Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. The academic recognition marks an important milestone in Dr. Sengupta’s distinguished scientific career, spanning biomedical research, nanomedicine, bioengineering, drug delivery, and the translation of scientific discoveries into potential therapeutic applications.

Dr. Sengupta joined the Harvard faculty in 2005, following his doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge and postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research has focused on understanding disease mechanisms and developing innovative therapeutic technologies, particularly in oncology, inflammation, and drug delivery. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, including research published in leading journals such as Nature and Cell, and has received several prestigious recognitions, including the MIT Technology Review TR35 Innovator Award and the Era of Hope Scholar Award from the US Department of Defense.

Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta, Co-Founder and Director of Vyome, commented, “I am deeply honored by this academic recognition. My scientific journey has been driven by a simple question: how can our understanding of biology and disease mechanisms be translated into better therapeutic approaches for patients? Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with exceptional scientists, clinicians, and students across several disciplines. This appointment is a recognition of that collective scientific journey and the contributions of the many people I have worked with. Co-founding Vyome has been an important part of my efforts to connect fundamental research with patient care. I continue to believe that the greatest opportunities in biotechnology lie at the intersection of strong science, interdisciplinary thinking and a deep understanding of unmet medical needs.”

Venkat Nelabhotla, CEO of Vyome, stated, “Dr. Sengupta’s promotion to Professor at Harvard Medical School is a wonderful recognition of his many years of scientific work and his contributions to translational medicine. I have had the privilege of working closely with him in building Vyome, and what has always impressed me is his ability to connect fundamental science with real problems that patients face. Building an innovative biotechnology company requires much more than good science. This recognition is a matter of great pride for all of us at Vyome. It also reinforces our belief that experienced scientific leadership, combined with disciplined development and execution, is fundamental to building a globally competitive biotechnology company.”

Dr. Sengupta has played an important role in Vyome’s scientific foundation, bringing expertise in disease biology, drug delivery, formulation technologies, and translational research. Vyome’s development strategy emphasizes differentiated therapeutic approaches for conditions where patients have limited treatment options. Its programs include VT-1953, an investigational topical therapy being developed for symptoms associated with malignant fungating wounds, and VT-1908, an investigational topical ophthalmic formulation of mycophenolate being developed as a potential non-steroidal treatment for anterior uveitis.

Vyome has previously reported positive results from an investigator-initiated Phase 2 study of VT-1953 and peer-reviewed preclinical findings supporting continued development of VT-1908.

Dr. Sengupta’s academic achievement is independent of Vyome’s clinical and regulatory programs. His continued involvement as a Co-Founder and Director provides scientific experience and perspective to the company’s long-term innovation strategy.
